At Sangaree Animal Hospital, we are dedicated to our community and committed to making life better for animals in our area: yours, ours and the ones that have no one else to care for them. Dr. McGinn was a co-founder of the Doc Williams Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, formerly known as the Berkeley County SPCA. We work closely with all surrounding animal shelters including: Doc Williams SPCA, Francis Willis SPCA and Charleston Animal Society.
Annually, in the Spring or Summer months, our clinic holds an Open House to raise funds and awareness for rescue groups. We also give all of our attendees the opportunity to meet our staff and doctors, and to tour our hospital. Every year, we devise different fundraising games for this event. After the Open House, all proceeds from the games and silent auctions are donated to animal charities such as Our Lady of Mercy Cat Nip Cottage and our local Great Dane Rescue. This event takes a lot of planning and we are committed to making it a success. The community looks forward to our Open House, and we look forward to seeing you at our next event!
Our staff also participates in the "Scarecrow on the Square" every October. All proceeds go to support local groups in the Summerville area. In 2010 we were pleased to have placed 1st in the business category.
In addition, several of our staff members (Dr. Graham and several licensed veterinary technicians) are adjuncts at Trident Technical College in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, for the Veterinary Technician program.Sangaree in the News
